A couple of years ago I came across Richard Renaldi's work and it prompted me to learn large format photography. Richard uses an 8x10 camera to shoot landscapes and portraits. I find his portraits extremely natural and telling. Shot generally at a wide open aperture, the subjects standout and commend your attention.
A quick review of the projects on his website illustrates the immense volume of work that he has tackled over the past few years.
The images that I have selected come from his Newark, 49 & 50, Bus Travelers and Fall River Boy's projects.
