I came upon Monika Merva from the Hey Hot Shot blog, where Monika is featured as a contender for the fall 2009 Hey Hot Shot contest. For those of you not familiar with Hey Hot Shot, it is a photography contest hosted by Jen Bekman of the Jen Bekman Gallery in SoHo. A couple times a year she holds Hot Shot contests to feature select emerging and established photographers.
I am attaching few images of hers from various galleries on her website. I really like the way she is able to uniquely frame and capture gestures in her portraits. Everyone is different from the other, but they all contain the requisite connection with the sitter.
