Lucas Foglia

Lucas Foglia has a large body of work that I admire entitled, Re-Wilding. In this work he photographs people in the Southeastern US who live off the grid. The people he has photographed have moved away from civilization for various reasons--environmental, religious or due to fears about economic collapse.

I love how his images capture the essence of simple, beautiful moments or places. The images may be partially staged, but they feel so natural that you don't get the sense that his subjects are directed in any way.
